Gazetteer & History
Makeen appears in the record as one of the most densely settled parts of the Mahsud country, with orchards and terraced cultivation noted in gazetteer descriptions. It was the seat of Mulla Powinda's influence until his death there in 1913, and remained a focus of both administrative attention and later military operations.
